Challenge

Shadforth was processing up to 10,000 invoices per month manually (two minutes per invoice to match a PO). Timesheet processing shut down the entire finance department for a full day every month. Field crews had to carry laptops with VPNs to access systems. Managing 1,000+ pieces of plant across multiple sites with disconnected Cat/Komatsu telematics caused project delays. Managing compliance for constant contractor turnover was a full-time job.

Solution

MRU built ShadConnect — a custom portal front-ending Vista by Viewpoint with job costing, foreman log, HR performance reviews, plant management, invoice automation (OCR + AP matching), and safety & compliance modules. Integrated with Vista, Fleet Pursuit, and Bulk Fuels Australia. Separate employee and contractor portals for role-based access. Mobile-first UI so field crews ditched the laptops. Architected to let Shadforth swap backend systems without retraining ~1,000 users.
